Brief info

Talented forward Oburu joined Wazito FC on a free transfer from AFC leopards where he won the GOtv Shield Cup in 2017.
It was his thunderous left-foot shot from close range that helped AFC Leopards beat Sharks 2-0 to lift their first GOtv Shield title since 2013. Moreover, he scooped the top scorer award having struck 6 times in that shield tournament.
He exploded into the wider football public’s consciousness during the 2016 KPL under 20 tournament representing Ingwe. Oburu’s promise was underlined by scoring a couple of goals that took the under-20 Ingwe to the final where they narrowly lost to Mathare United.
Having transitioned into the first team, he scored a Maradona-esque goal versus Mathare United last season at Mumias Sports complex by dribbling past an entire midfield and defensive line and rounded off the keeper to coolly slot the ball home.
The 23-year old made his debut for Wazito FC coming off the bench in the 3-1 win against Vihiga United.
Oburu who is comfortable on the left-wing or as a striker is capped a couple of times for the Harambee Stars.
